Funky guitarist par excellence, Cory Wong has teamed up with Wampler to design the Wong Compressor & Boost, a pedal designed for clean sounds that will give you first-rate dynamics.

Externally, the Wong dresses in a beautiful pastel blue dress. In terms of controls, we find: Volume, Sustain, Tone, Attack and Blend. The same functions as on the Ego. This, with the addition of a clean boost slice so that it “slams” and passes through the mix. A single Boost button allows you to adjust the level. On the sides, there is an XLR output to attack a console, and on the right a small push button to enable/disable the compressor on the fly. Inside, good quality PCB and switch.

On a clean channel, at 12:00, the Wong appears quite "squashy" with a noticeable "mmppff" attack. The compression is quite marked and the release is audible. This gives a strong sound signature to it. We feel a great influence of Dyna Comp in the design of the Wong and a quite 80's side due to its sound color. But make no mistake, the Wong has some great secret skills to make the difference. The Attack button has a nice effect on compression. It allows you to adjust the speed to recover a more or less attenuated attack, ideal for more modern compressions and less pronounced styles depending on the needs. The Tone helps reinforce the precision of the effect by brightening the attack. The Volume has quite a bit of reserve, so we won't hesitate to increase it while reducing the Sustain and playing with the Attack to use the Wampler Wong as a limiter or a boost.
On a lead channel, this is where the Wong makes all the difference, thanks to its Blend which allows dry signal to be reinjected after the compression stage. For those who want discreet but effective compression (typically what we need with distortion to gain sustain and fluidity, without impacting the attack too much) we will not hesitate to slightly increase the Blend. We can thus mix the original signal and the compressed signal as desired.
The boost slice drives the point home with a very “flat” and transparent response. We note a slight bump in the 500hz / low mid range which allows the sound to thicken while passing through the mix without problem.

The Wampler Cory Wong Compressor & Boost is an excellent tool, mainly dedicated to managing dynamics on clean sound. We will appreciate its transparency and flexibility which will allow you to enlarge your sound without distorting it.

Love these!!
My dog absolutely loves these toys!! I’m grateful they don’t tear up easily because he’s really harsh on toys. Love that you can add treats or a water bottle to get more engagement and enjoyment. This by far is one of my dogs favorite toys. Great value for the money and great quality.

My dogs love these toys!!
My dogs went crazy over these toys. They love them. They are so cute. They are the perfect quality chew toy for dogs who love to chew toys apart. Perfect size for smaller dogs. They love to carry their toys around all over the place with them.

No chew resistant for heavy chewers.
Not durable for a heavy chewer. I went by the reviews which said they lasted and were chew resistant. Ha! Not so with my Brittany Spaniel. She chewed this apart within hours!

indestructible!
these are so cute, squeak but my puppy who chews everything from rocks to shells was unable to tear these toys to shreds or even bite it into pieces. she actually gave up and grew bored with them which has never happened with any other toy or item she fixates on and eventually destroys.

Great!
Surprisingly tough. Holds up to tug and doesn't rip right away like so many soft toys do. Has crinkle legs and squeaky head. Dog is having so much fun
